The Funchal Half Marathon is a sporting event of an international nature which takes place annually in the city of Funchal and that brings together athletes from many countries, in a trend more pronounced in leisure and recreation not forgetting of course the competitive part.

The first edition of the Funchal Half Marathon was a success and the Madeira Athletics Association, advances now with preparations for the 2nd edition that will be held on 3 March 2013.

The course is almost entirely flat, in closed circuit, with an exceptional landscape that is excellent for long distance participants.
